We’ve got the resources to backtest strategies of all kinds, whether tweaked from ones on this website, or completely new ones. If you have an idea of a strategy but want to backtest how it would’ve worked from 2000 until now, then we can provide the data and optimize that strategy too.

One individual was able to blend the best tenets of a few strategies on this site into a strategy that has returned 52% annualized over the past two decades. This would mean $1000 invested into the strategy in 2000 would be worth $7,260,000 today. Opportunities are out there and all investing greats started somewhere…

The process is simple and we can help you along the way:

1. Pick a stock universe

Start out by telling us which stock universe to scan from. This can be as small as the S&P 100, or as large as all U.S. stocks, to include over-the-counter (OTC) listings. This is the large data pool we’ll sift through. Here are some example options:

2. Screen the stock universe

Then tell us which criteria(s) you want to use to screen and filter stocks. Some examples of this could be:

Filter out companies with P/E ratios over 20
Filter out by poor price momentum performance
Filter out large-cap stocks
Filter out companies with more debt than equity

3. Rank the remaining stocks

From there, you can then take the remaining stocks and rank them based on any criteria you wish. They do not have to be related to the criteria you scanned for. For the purpose of this explanation, however, we will show examples based on the above criteria.Now rank companies based on P/E ratios
Now rank the best-performing companies by price momentum
Now rank the smallest companies at the top
Now rank companies with the lowest debt to equity

You can screen and/or rank. You do not have to do both.

4. Select how many stocks you would like to buy

Once you have your smaller list of stocks, you then choose the number you would want to buy. This would be done by taking the X number you desire that best meet the above criteria.

5. Select a rebalance frequency

How long do you want to hold these positions for? This can often make a difference. Sometimes holding those stocks for 4 weeks at a time before shuffling them up can make a large difference rather than holding them for a whole year. We can work with you to provide recommendations for the optimum rebalance frequency.

6. Backtest

From there, we can tell you how that strategy would have performed over the past 1, 3, 5, 10, and 20 years, along with statistics for the strategy such as its beta, Sortino Ratio, and Sharpe Ratio. We do this through our backtesting database. We will handle the complicated programming of the setup, and just give you the results you need to become a prudent investor.
